Tamara Guesthouse has a total of 21 uniquely designed guestrooms and
has been operational since 1988. The quality of the rooms and the amenities
are comparable to that of a 3-star hotel but the prices range from €24.00
to €50.00 per day per room (for double occupancy).
Our moderate rated guesthouse is located at the southern part of Jakarta,
which our guests normally call "the new Jakarta" or "Village of the
Foreigners". Because when people stay on this side of Jakarta, they
really don't need to come to the northern nor the central part every
day, since most of the tourists and ex pats activities are in the south.
South Jakarta has everything anyone would need, especially foreigners.
There are quite a number of foreign schools, foreigners supermarket for
you to feel at home (CarreFour, Makro), by keeping the original and authentic
atmosphere of the country, though you're thousands of miles away from
home.
The South is now also called the Paradise of Jakarta because most of the
happenings are here where the air is cleaner than in any of the 5 other
districts of Jakarta.
Location
We´re situated almost at the valley of the mountain and yet only 15
- 20 minutes from the hot spots, souvenirs paradise combined with streets
full of pubs & clubs. The world is right there at your feet!!! You'll
be right in the middle of the Jewel of Asia, with thousands of different
cultural shows and million types of souvenirs.
It really is a much bigger central spot compared to the old ones and
what everybody calls the Blok M Central of tourism resort spot has been
here for more than 18 years. Our guesthouse is only 15 minutes by car
and 20 minutes by bus from Blok M, the area of everything and anything
you could possibly be looking for. You can shop till you drop,
( that's the very common phrase here in our area ).
Food
You'll easily find yourself standing in the middle of an area full of
tropical fruits stalls as if you were dreaming.
The fresh juices they present you is also cooling your throat, in the
middle of the heat of the noon time, a perfect match to your exotic
typical Indonesian lunch. Well, until you see it, you'll never know
it.
Stroll around and treat yourself because these stalls are really so
seductively attractive. Food from all over the world can be found in
Block M as well as exciting night life & karaoke clubs where you can
dance the night away.
We know that tourists don't always like to stay downtown in the middle
of the hectic /busy traffic or noisy surroundings except when they're
touring!! We also know that they value tranquillity , because when they
come back from touring and shopping the noise just simply has to disappear
for a while.
